I have served over 200 women in birth since 1999. I’m in awe of the spiritual event each birth is. Knowing when to assist the mother and when to retreat quietly into the shadows and leave the laboring couple alone to share the experience. I feel I can be a comforter, tuning in to the mother helping her relax and assisting her in using her natural resources to ease the discomfort and steady the progress of labor. |

When mother's strength seems gone, my own strength is offered, encouraging the woman beyond her perceived limits to meet her goal of birthing her baby. The new mother never forgets the events of labor and delivery though out her life. Preserving the dignity of giving birth and empowering her to bring in new life is profound. Each birth is unique. |
